Inspecting Carol

This madcap Holiday comedy centers around a floundering professional theatre company rehearsing for its 13th production of its annual cash cow, “A Christmas Carol”. Before approving an annual grant, a National Endowment for the Arts inspector is sent to investigate. Add to the mix an aspiring actor who shows up to audition and is mistaken for the inspector. The story of a marriage is at the center of this intimate and nostalgic work by Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones, the authors of ³The Fantasticks.² The show begins with Michael and Agnes on their wedding day and traces their life together over a period of 50 years, until the day they leave their house to the next pair of newlyweds. In that time we watch them go through their wedding night jitters, raise a family, negotiate mid-life crises, quarrel, separate, reconcile and grow old together, all lovingly to the strains of a tuneful, charming score which includes the standard "My Cup Runneth Over."

The Foreigner

This Obie Award winning comic romp is filled with wacky humor, heart, and a surprising amount of humanity. Charlie and his friend, Froggy, leave their native England for a getaway to a remote fishing lodge in backwoods Georgia. When Froggy has to leave Charlie alone with the hostess and her friends, he saves his extremely shy friend from the trials of conversation by telling everyone Charlie does not speak English. Moon Over the Brewery

A charming romantic comedy. Thirteen-year-old Amanda has an IQ of 160, carries a briefcase, handles the family accounting, and has a secret: an imaginary friend named Randolph. She lives with her mother, Miriam, an artist who paints pictures of the moon as seen from various locations in the Pennsylvania coal town where they live. The lives of these two are thrown into confusion as Miriam falls for the gentle and kind mail carrier and Amanda’s imaginary friend shows up to try to ruin the blooming romance. Funny, touching and surprising, this is a terrific play for the family to enjoy.
