Dear Coastal Rep Family and Friends:

As we continue to welcome you back to Coastal Repertory Theatre for the remainder of our 2021 season, we want to remind our patrons that their safety and the safety of our artists, technicians, and staff are at the forefront of our mission during these challenging times. Over the past months, we’ve been striving to ensure our facilities and procedures align with the COVID requirements for the State of California as well all County of San Mateo and CDC guidelines. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this ever changing landscape.

Effective: December 30, 2021

Due to the spread of the Omicron Variant, current guidelines recommend KN95 masks with doubling up a surgical mask and cloth mask as good option to prevent the spread of the Omicron variant. We require all patrons to be wearing an N95, KN95 or a KF94 mask OR doubling up your masks with a surgical mask first and your cloth one over that.  Surgical masks will be available at our door, if needed.

We continue to monitor all COVID Federal, State and County protocols for your safety and health. We will be maintaining smaller houses so that our patrons can be spaced out a bit.

Thank you for understanding and cooperating with us.

Effective: August 27, 2021

Coastal Rep will require all employees, performers, crew, production staff, and volunteers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to participate in productions. All crew, staff, and volunteers will be required to wear masks inside the theater per San Mateo County’s mandate. Performers will be permitted to remove their masks while actively performing.

For our ticket holders: Our policies are as follows: the continued wearing of masks inside the theater as well as proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 for those 12 years of age and over.  Ticket holders under 12 years of age will require proof of full vaccine or a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the performance.

Before you enter the theater:

  • You must provide a completed vaccination card (paper, photo, or digital copy) or if under 12 proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance. You will also need your matching ID. Please remember that “fully vaccinated” is at least 14 days after your final dose.

  • Be prepared to wear your mask inside at all times. Everyone at the theater will be masked with the exception of our actors onstage.

  • At this time, our Concession’s area will remain open. All food and beverages must be consumed in our concession area or outside and masks must be in place except when actively eating or drinking. No food or drink is allowed in the theater at this time.

We appreciate your continued patronage and thank you for your assistance in helping Coastal Rep keep our theater family and community safe.

UPDATE 8/2/21

Vaccination continues to protect against severe COVID-19 illness, but with the COVID-19 Delta variant now infecting a small percentage of vaccinated people as well as many unvaccinated people, eight Bay Area health officers have issued Health Orders requiring masks indoors in public places. The Orders require all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, to wear face coverings when indoors in public settings, with limited exceptions, starting at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3. The San Mateo County Health Order is available here. One of the exceptions is for eating and drinking, which is allowed in our lobby.

UPDATE 7/18/21

Following San Mateo County and CDC recommendations, Coastal Rep has made the decision that all cast, crew and production teams will be fully vaccinated and that all patrons, staff and volunteers MUST wear masks when indoors.
